Microsoft End of Life Messages Highlight Potential Security Issues for Users of Windows XP and Office 2003

support for windows xp

Microsoft is eventually withdrawing support for Windows XP and Office 2003. Whilst this has been planned for some time , there are still many people who are unaware of the precise implications for their business.

Our priority is to pass on as much information as possible to our customers about the impact of security threats, because here at Trident, we are aware that these threats are very real and need to be taken seriously.

Microsoft have been sending out vitally important ‘end of life’ warnings which indicate that whilst the programme will still run, users will be open to harmful viruses, spyware and other malicious software which could damage, even steal, your business data. Risks associated with continuing to run Windows XP are many but include issues with security, compliance requirements, software vendor support and hardware manufacturer support.

If you are seeing the following pop-up message on your screen, then the chances are you will be vulnerable.

If this is the case, it’s important to look at your migration options as soon as possible to avoid potentially serious security issues.

To make things easier for you, Trident can run a free network assessment to identify threats and also to offer guidance on migrating to a secure operating system. Your business manager will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding migration so please do call on 01273 662667 or email info@tridentgroup.co.uk
