Windows 10 – Free to upgrade until July 29th

Now is the ideal time to upgrade to Windows 10 whilst it’s still free because after July 29th, everyone will be charged to upgrade. Microsoft assert that Windows 10 is their best enterprise operating system ever, offering new ways of being productive.

‘More than 200 million devices are running Windows 10 in 192 countries across the world (that’s nearly every country on the planet). Our goal is to reach 1 billion Windows 10 devices by 2018.’  Source: Microsoft

Windows 10 delivers the right interface for the right device making it the ideal operating system when using a variety of different devices, therefore fulfilling Microsoft’s aim to ensure a more mobile computing experience in an ever increasingly mobile and cloud based world.

It also provides a seamless transition from Windows 7 and Windows 8, with the most popular features taken from both operating systems. Security is superior to any other operating system and protects corporate data better than ever before. Updates cannot be switched off, so reducing the risk of Windows 10 PCs being compromised by hackers or other wider security risks.

Terry Myerson, Microsoft’s Executive Vice President of Operating Systems, has said of Windows 10:

‘We think of Windows as a Service – in fact, one could reasonably think of Windows in the next couple of years as one of the largest Internet services on the planet.’

Once upgraded to Windows 10 you get the benefit of automatic upgrades, drawing a comparison to the way Microsoft operate their cloud based software platform, Office 365.The increased security and flexibility of Windows 10 is proving attractive worldwide.

If you’d like to begin conversations about upgrading for free whilst there is still time, we are in an excellent position to assist in building a strategy for deploying Windows 10 across any network and assessing the implications that arise after upgrading operating systems.

It’s important that any new operating system works with all other IT systems, which is where Trident’s expertise helps to test and ensure compatibility as part of a deployment plan.

We’d be more than happy to advise on the best possible deployment route, so don’t hesitate to call us on 01273 662777 and speak to a member of the Trident team.

If you’d like more details about the additional features of Windows 10, you can read about them on the Microsoft blog here.
